Ugly Love - Colleen Hoover (Review)

Title: Ugly Love
Author: Colleen Hoover
Genres: New Adult, Romance, Contemporary
Synopsis:
When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

Review:

A heart wrenching love story that will bring you to see the ugliest part of love. I’ve only read one other book from Colleen Hoover, Maybe Someday, and I love that immediately. And this book did not disappoint me. I read it in one day, that says a lot about how unable I was to put it down.

I love how effortless it was for me to relate to the characters’ feelings. It’s like I was there, I was inside Tate’s mind, I was inside Miles’ mind, I felt their pains, their struggles, especially for Miles. His past that keeps me drawn to this book. I wanted to know what happed to him, what made him this sad, and who was Rachel, and what she did to him.

“At first, I think he’s about to get sick, but then I realize how incredibly wrong I am.
He’s not sick.
He’s crying.
Hard.
So hard he isn’t even making a sound.
I don’t even know the guy, but the obvious devastation he’s experiencing is difficult to witness.”

“He’s crying.
Miles Archer is crying.
It’s the same heart-wrenching cry that came from him the night I met him.
This grown man, this wall of intimidation, this solid veil of armor, he’s completely crumbling right
in front of my eyes”

“I suppose if a man lived through the ugliest side of love, he might never want to experience it again.”

And when those answers were revealed it broke my heart a million pieces more. There's that time when I want to walk right into the book and swoop Miles into my arms and tell him everything's going to be okay.

I love how Rachel got a say even just for one chapter it tightens the loose end pretty well.

The other thing that makes this book perfect is the steamy scenes. Oh boy aren't they steamy.

It's nice to see how everything comes together for every characters. I just love how this book played with my emotion.
