I have a gift
I'm more than human
My touch is power
I will fight back
Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.
The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.
The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.
Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

So I decided to make this my first post under the Bookish
Stuff label, which is starting from now is the label where I’ll write all the
bookish stuff including reviews, book post, book updates, etc, etc. I wish I
could keep up since you know life is always getting in the way. And it took me
long to finally finish this post, because I was confused whether to use English
or Bahasa. But since I read the English version, I decided to
write my review in English (though it would probably looks like crap since my
English is crap but I tried, anyway), and later when I read a Bahasa book I’ll
write the review also in Bahasa.
So lets get started. Shatter Me, the crowd led me to this
book. I’ve heard people praised this book, good reviews were floating everywhere.
So I decided to give it a try. And they weren’t wrong. I fell in love with it
immediately. Though at first I was a little doubt about it, since it’s a
dystopian and I’m not really a big fan of dystopian. But it’s not just common
dystopian which started to feel too mainstream these days, where the government
took control, slaughtering their citizen, and people were divided into how they
acted or what they liked (I don’t talk about any particular book here), Shatter
Me is mixed with supernatural, and thriller, and the minute I knew Juliette had
a supernatural power my eyes glued to the book.
I read this book weeks ago and I’m a little vague on the
details and I can't really say much anymore but this is definitely on my favorite list.If you love The Hunger Games, Divergent or any other dystopian book, you should definitely put this on your list.
